Libera concert in Manila 2013

I first heard Libera sing on TV (not sure what program or channel) when they were promoting their concert a few years  back. In an instant, I was stunned, amazed and hypnotized by their angelic voices and looks. I swore to heavens I’d watch them when I have the resources already, meaning I have a job and money of my own haha. After a few years, it seemed like someone heard my wish and gave me tickets to watch them on their most recent concert in PICC. Wish granted.

Libera is tagged as Asia’s Best Loved Boys’ Choir. Asia lang? I’m sure the whole world adores them!!!

Going back,  they held their concert on October 29 at the PICC. I went with my Mom and little sister, Lia. Luckily for us, the tickets  I won from an online contest were Level 1,Row B.. as in front seats. Thanks for the graduation gift, Rustan’s! (I always treat the gifts and surprises I’ve been receiving as graduation presents because I’m about to finish school this month. Hihihi)

I can still hear in my ears the “ohhs”, “awwws” and “ahhhhs” of the audience  when Libera sang different Chistmas songs.  And I remember wanting to clap (I’m sure everybody wanted also) the moment they played the music of Enya’s Orinoco Flow.  Ahhh!!! The boys were amazing and captivating. I’ve never been so mesmerized and lost. One boy explained that they offer the song to the victims of the Bohol and Cebu quake.

My most favorite part/s would be the in-between ‘talk’ (don’t know how to describe it) wherein the boys would introduce themselves and give trivias about their group and their songs. They said that because they attend different schools, they are only able to do tours when all of them are on  vacation. They also shared that on the day of their flight to Manila, some of the boys had their uniform on (okay I must have heard that wrong but close to that haha). They spend their vacation on different countries and once they go back to their country, it’s school time again. AWWW! 😦

Here are some photos after the concert:

Beautiful stage, beautiful concert, beautiful voices. Thank you Libera!

After a 7-month hiatus…

…I am back!

For the past 7 months, a lot of things have happened. There’s the internship at a publishing company from April to May (which was super fun!), the start of the 1st semester A.Y. 2013-2014 which was also my LAST semester in school in June, the 2-week vacation of my Papa for the supposedly October graduation which was moved this November, and so many things in between. And there’s a LOT of things to look forward to. On top of my list is my graduation this November. Can I have some “Wohooo!! Congrats Jam!!!” and “You did it!!” comments from you guys? :DI’m so excited!!!!

And of course there’s Christmas, Papa’s long vacation, Divisoria (been wanting to go there to shop and eat!!!) and a fun wedding on December. I’m also hoping we can watch a concert or two during the holidays, e.g. Barbie LIVE! The Mickey Mouse show my friends and I watched in Araneta a few years ago was too awesome I cannot wait to watch another fun show perfect for the kids and kids at heart. ;) So many good and fun things to prepare for and blog about. I better not waste time so expect me, Jam to start writing again.. :)

Good news today + good movies yesterday!

Disclaimer: I tend to write spoilers about the movies being featured on my blog. Don’t read if you don’t want your day be spoiled. 😛

A day after Easter Sunday or “Pasko ng Pagkabuhay” to Filipinos, I received good news. I’ve been praying for this and God gave it to us. Thank You Papa Jesus! (this has something to do with my academics) Now all I need to do is haunt and pay. Uhm.. sounds weird, but it really is about my subjects. Thank You Papa Jesus! You saved me, yet again!

Since I am too glad with the good news I received today, let me share with you the movies that we watched yesterday and made me realize a lot of things.

1st movie: Toy Story 3

Lots of bubog!! (shattered glasses- which according to Sir Rahyan Carlos and Sir Ricky Lee are broken glasses that we have experienced in life which made us the persons we are today. These may be physical, mental, emotional, dark past; our life’s failures and pains).

This is the 3rd installment to the Toy Story series by Pixar. Honestly, I don’t remember if I watched the first 2 in the cinemas or if I ever watched it. I just really started to got a little addicted with cartoon movies when I watched Finding Nemo, Mulan, Scooby Doo and The Prince of Egypt a hundred times on our DVD set. But I loved the classics like Cinderella, Snow White, and all films-princessey.

Going back, like all the afore-mentioned films, this was such a tearjerker. I had to stop myself from crying because all my siblings were beside me watching. Hehehe. The whole time Andy was saying his goodbyes to his toys especially when he introduced Woody to Bonnie, I was teary-eyed!!!! My jaw was hurting the whole scene. You can watch the scene on Youtube (but I suggest you really watch the WHOLE film):

The movie imparts a great lesson to us all: that there are people (or things?:p) who will not leave us whatever happens and will keep on holding and believing. Two words: FRIENDS FOREVER!

Can’t help but remember my friends who’ve been there through ups and downs. (Image from

2nd movie: The Last Airbender

I was so moved by the 1st movie so this wasn’t a competitor. I got bored with the film’s pacing. I wanted more adventures, less talk and dead scenes. The direction and editing were not commendable. I felt as though they were trying to squeeze every detail into a 1 and a half(?) hour-movie through numerous voice over by the girl character.

3rd movie: Inkheart

Creative. There’s just one funny goof I read online.

Mo has been looking for a copy of the book for nine years and never thought of contacting the author until his daughter mentions it.

I think I’m still overwhelmed with Toy Story 3 so…..

Til the next movies! 😉

Good Friday and Sabado de Gloria movie marathon

Yesterday, Good Friday, my mother, little brother and sister and I went to Sto. Nino de Cebu parish in CSA to do Stations of the Cross. Honestly speaking, I think it was the first time we did the stations in just one Church. Usually on Holy Week, we go around Tagaytay, Laguna, or somewhere far like Bicol for vacation and whole day Church rounds. It was different but I thought it was good because unlike our usual rounds, we really got to focus on the meditations and not be hindered by the beautiful sights. Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOVE Sto. Nino Church which is beside my high school Alma Mater. You have to visit it for you to discover the Church’s beauty 😉

So when we got home, we did our usual thing: haunt for movies!!! (insert scary laugh here)

1st movie: Cabin in the Woods

I was not able to start this movie but I got intrigued when I realized they (my family) were so focused and quiet while watching… Hmm… there must be something special to this film that they have become this glued. I was right, the film made me want to give my utmost attention (lol) to it the whole time. Though I didn’t really liked the plot, cinematography, acting and all, I still found it entertaining. Geeez those monsters, I can still remember the elevator scene.

2nd movie: The Eagle

OHH THIS ONE I MUST COMMEND. I LOVED IT. I love Channing Tatum, haha. I didn’t know he was 32 already, has a wife and a kid (wiki knowledge here). He’s so… soldier *v*  (Film Appreciation subject application failed.)

Hi there, handsome! (Image from

3rd movie: Identity Thief

Quite funny! But not cinema worthy, which I mean is that I wouldn’t want to watch this on the movie house because I’ll surely want to stand up and buy food. The story’s too slow to progress. Anyway, I liked the ending. 😛

Sabado de Gloria

1st movie: Skyfall

This movie did not disappoint. We just found the long introduction (or what do you call that) with Adele’s song playing somewhat weird.. or.. unique maybe? My little sister even asked us: “Tapos na yun? Ang bilis naman.” She thought the whole movie was finished na, e it was starting palang. Haha. Nevertheless, I love James Bond, Daniel Craig and Adele.

“Let the sky fall
When it crumbles
We will stand tall

Face it all together”

Gwapo naman. (Image from

2nd movie: S.W.A.T. Firefight (2011)

Let’s just say I would have wanted to watch the 2003 version of this instead.

SWAT HAPPENED? (Image from

I liked this better actually. A lot. (

Movies we watched

It’s Maundy/Holy Thursday. But since we didn’t have much to do at home, we opted to watch films on our TV set.

1st movie: Black Swan

I heard this was a dark story.. indeed it was and I was surprised. My mother was so glued to the screen the whole time we were watching. Natalie Portman is amazing, I thought she played the role well. And yes, she danced gracefully. Mila Kunis’ eyes are just too beautiful, I can’t resist staring.

2nd movie: 10,000 B.C.

It wasn’t really a favorite nor a stand out. All I could think of while watching it was: Were they using Chroma? Because it looks definitely like it.

3rd movie: The Raid Redemption

This movie scared the hell out of me. Mennnn, it’s like watching The Walking Dead- I kept on standing from my place, going from one place to another and covering my eyes. One word: Brutal. and Gruesome. Okay, those are 2 words.

The guy on the right seemed like he didn’t feel any pain throughout the film. Geez. (image from

4th movie: Wreck-it Ralph

This might just be my favorite out of the four. First because it was for general patronage which meant it was perfect for Lia! Second point,  we just finished The Raid Redemption thus, I wanted to watch a film which was not heavy. Third, I loved every second of it.

I love the story and its lesson! I love Disney movies! I love Sugar Rush!

Anyway, I’m amazed to know that the voice behind  the lovely, young girl Vanellope (the glitch character from Sugar Rush) is Sarah Silverman. What amazes me more is that a 40-something actress voiced a what, 8-9 year old character? Incredible!

From now on, I shall be keeping note of the movies I watch to keep count at the end of the year. Let’s see how many it will be.

God bless everyone!

Love you Latina babes and our tacos!

Random: Thanks blockmates!

I think one of the best blessing I received last year was being so close with my blockmates, after 4 long years of being classmates. I never expected we will all be this close today as a whole class. I’m thankful because even if it came late (we’re on our last year), it still happened. I’m so glad to have found a bunch of great people I’ll treasure all my life.
